Andrea Akerman from Rockford, Ill., who attended SNA’s 2019 LAC as the Josephine Martin National Policy Fellow said, “I hope anyone who feels as passionately about school nutrition as I do will consider applying for the Josephine Martin award to attend LAC. Watch in awe how our government works, and what you have to do in order to be heard and represented; how hard you have to try, and when you get a win what a miracle it is. The scholarship gave me the opportunity to find even more things to love about what I do.”
