2019 SNA & MSNA Awards March 1st Deadline Approaching!

The SNA and MSNA awards nominations deadline is just around the corner! Deadline is March 1!

Have you thought about nominating a colleague for a SNA or MSNA Award?  Whether it is an employee, manager or director, E-Team or Innovation award, every school nutrition department has an individual who shows unprecedented dedication to their colleagues and students and goes above and beyond in all that they do. Now is the time to give them the recognition they deserve with the 2019 SNA  & MSNA Awards.

The annual SNA Awards recognizes exemplary individuals in the field of school nutrition and enables their important and outstanding work to be highlighted. (And you probably agree with us that every passionate SNA member is deserving of this award.)

SNA Awards
How will winners be recognized and rewarded??

Nominees are can be in one of three categories—Employee of the Year, Manager of the Year and Director of the Year. Entrants are recognized on state, regional and national levels. So, besides bragging rights, winners will be recognized at SNA’s 2019 Annual National Conference in St. Louis, Missouri during the Red Carpet Awards Ceremony. National winners will receive a plaque and an all-expenses paid trip to ANC.

MSNA Awards
How will winners be recognized and rewarded??

Winners for the MSNA awards will receive a certificate, Red apple award presented at 2019 Annual State Conference, a letter to  their Principal & Director and an invitation to President’s Reception at Annual Conference in St. Cloud.

What are the categories?

SNA Employee of the Year—This award recognizes non-managerial school nutrition employees for their contributions. The nominee must be an SNA member in the Employee category and currently hold a certificate in school nutrition or the SNS credential.

SNA Manager of the Year—In honor of Louise Sublette, this award recognizes school nutrition managers for their hard work and dedication. The nominee must be a current SNA member in the Manager category working in the school nutrition manager/ head cook/assistant manager field and currently hold a certificate in school nutrition or the SNS credential.

SNA Director of the Year—This award highlights the commitment and dedication of directors in the school nutrition field. Nominees must be currently and for the past five years have served in the position of Director, currently and for the past five years have been an SNA member in the District Director or Major City Director category and hold a certificate in school nutrition or the SNS credential.

MSNA Awards

“E” TEAM – MSNA Only
Showcases EXCELLENCE in Teamwork, Creativity and Customer Service.  Going the “Extra Mile” is a part of the team’s goals to bring their best service to the forefront.
Eligibility: Kitchen team of two or more and each team member must be a current SNA/MSNA member and employed in a school nutrition program.

Innovation Award-MSNA Only
Recognizes an individual for the development of an Innovative Process or Program within a school or district which adds value or streamlines operations.
School Nutrition Employee or Child Nutrition Office Support staff. Must be a current  SNA/MSNA member and multiple candidates may be nominated from each district.
Directors are not eligible for this award.

When is the deadline?

Don’t delay—the deadline is swiftly approaching! Submissions are due online by March 1, 2019;
