MSNA is excited to announce that Lyn Halverson, Director of Winona Schools, and Okcha Chang, Rochester, were named the Midwest Regional winners for Director of the Year Award and Heart of the Program Award.

Lyn Halverson was presented flowers at the MSNA Industry Conference, May 6th, 2008 at Ruttger’s by Katie Wilson, President Elect~SNA and Tom Pellegrino, MSNA President. Congratulations to Lyn.

MSNA sends congratulations to Okcha Chang for her Midwest Regional “Heart of the Program Award” and her extraordinary commitment to school nutrition programs.

Lyn and Okcha will be honored at the ANC in Philadelphia on Sunday July 20th during the State Awards program. Both Ladies will move on for the national award. The national winners will be recognized at ANC.

ISD #196 participated in a Schwan’s “Change the World” Fight Against Hunger campaign.

MSNA members Pat Mergens of St. Paul and Colleen Fairbanks of Osseo, will be presenting a video for marketing your school in Philadelphia PA at the Annual National Conference in July.
The title is "Light's Camera, Action" Steps to Creating a state video. They will present on Tuesday, July 22 from 9:45-10:45. If you are going to the ANC please make sure you support Pat and Colleen during their presentation.

This video is an inspiring look into the work of all school foodservice professionals. Minnesota School Nutrition Association hired Tom Whitney, to create a video about “their” story. The video expresses their mission, vision and values to: members, Potential members, Industry, School Boards and Legislators.
