Job Summary:
The Nutrition & Wellness Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating and implementing a marketing strategy and program related to wellness and nutrition to be delivered to students, district staff, parents and community through nutrition education, promotion and adult engagement. This person will also be responsible for assuring our menus, foods and special diet requirements are in compliance with USDA regulations and align with the District’s Wellness Policy.
The Nutrition & Wellness Coordinator reports to the Director of Operations and is responsible to that person for the proper interpretations and performance of duties.
Qualifications:
Licensed as a Registered Dietician and/or Bachelor of Science Degree in the area of dietetics or nutrition. Prior experience related to the design, development and evaluation of a multi-faceted wellness program preferred.
Three or more years of nutrition/wellness related experience preferred.

Job Summary:
The School Nutrition Worker/ Cook Supervisor performs a variety of job functions to coordinate all preparation and serving of food according to established standards and all other duties essential to the successful operation of the school nutrition program, as assigned.
Primary job functions include:

General Purpose: To plan, organize, and coordinate the school food service program.
Reports to: Chief Financial Officer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide principles of good nutrition and their application to the school food service program.
- Establish food sanitation principles and control of microbiological and physical contamination of food.
- Coordinate the school food service program in conformance with federal and state laws and regulations, local and state health ordinances, and school district policies. Record keeping of food counts, usage and related bookkeeping duties.
- Determine needs and procure food and related supplies and equipment for entire food service program. This includes routine trips to retail grocers and caterers.
- Direct liaison with vended meals supplier.
- Select, assign, schedule, handle grievances and conduct disciplinary action and related items among food service personnel in accordance with district policy and procedure.
- Develop public information materials as applicable to the food service program.
- Work with SCPA staff to manage student lunch flow.
- Communicate volunteer needs to Volunteer Coordinator.
- Work with SCPA staff to plan and prepare for parent and staff refreshments and cafeteria reservations.
- Direct lunchroom volunteer program.
- Maintain milk/juice supply by monitoring usage and directing ordering as necessary.
- Maintain related supplies and food service equipment.
- Maintain cleanliness of lunchroom during lunch hours.
- Promote and develop the ala carte program.
- Coordinate hospitality services for staff and student programs.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Education, Experience and Skills Required:
- Food Service Manager Certification.
- MN State Education Basic School Food and Nutrition Training.
- Understand kitchen health and safety standard conduct.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work in noise and organized chaos and maintain flexibility.

Location: Beaver Creek Nature Reserve Youth Camp (there is no central air conditioning, however we do provide portable AC units and high capacity fans).
Head Cook: (1 position)
Pay starting at 1000 (2 week period), depending on qualifications, for full time work, Breakfast through dinner each day. Room and board are provided as well if the personnel does not live near the camp.
Kitchen Assistant(s): (1 to 2 positions available)
Pay starting at 400 (2 week period), depending on qualifications, for full time work, Breakfast through dinner each day. Room and board are provided as well if the personnel does not live near the camp.
